ODA’s technical work is carried out in open working groups, each owning a stage of the path from enterprise requirement to certified device. Committees steer the technical direction across those groups and carry the results into the market. Participation is open to all ODA members.
The Enterprise Requirements & Use Cases Working Group is the demand-side voice of the Open Device Alliance. It captures real-world deployment challenges across vertical industries, captures documented PCN deployment barriers, and translates Enterprise needs into prioritized requirements.
The Device Capabilities & Specifications Working Group is the core technical specification body of the Open Device Alliance. It translates enterprise operational requirements into actionable implementation specifications that device OEMs, chipset vendors, and platform providers build against to ensure ecosystem-wide interoperability and scale.
The Test & Certification Working Group is the validation and quality assurance arm of the Open Device Alliance. It converts technical specifications into executable test suites, verifies interoperability across Private RAN and Core platforms, and governs the official ODA Enabled certification program to deliver trusted procurement guidance for the enterprise.
Governance over the roadmap, specification releases, cross-working-group alignment, and technical arbitration. The TSC sits above the Working Groups: where each group owns a stage of the pipeline, the TSC owns the coherence of the whole — what gets prioritized, when it ships, and how competing approaches are reconciled.
Drives market awareness, governs ecosystem messaging, and manages the brand guidelines for certified devices, alongside PR, events, and commercial adoption. Open implementation standards only matter if the market knows about them and trusts what they mean — this committee carries ODA's technical work into the market and protects the credibility of the certification behind it.
